Why Buy Direct?
📘 I know author-owned book shops are kind of a newish thing. Maybe you've never bought from one before. Maybe you're wondering why you should!
I thought I'd go ahead and share my top 5 reasons with you: 👇🏻

It’s the best way to support a small business! When you buy direct, your favorite author gets to keep a lot more of the profit from that sale – which means they can write and produce more books for you to read!

You can often buy things you just CAN’T get on the other stores, such as signed paperbacks, cute swag, etc.

Because the ‘margins’ are better, we can usually offer bigger discounts on our own stores (see: my audiobooks are 50% off on my website when compared with Audible)

Authors can use our own shops to release books early, even if our ebooks are in Kindle Unlimited!!! I have friends who do this, and I’d like to try it in the future. It allows both readers and authors to have the best of both worlds. :)

You’re helping an author to future-proof their business. Sometimes, the big retailers make huge decisions that really hurt our sales, and we have little or no recourse. Sometimes authors even get banned for no reason. Sometimes the robots run the show, and we can barely talk to an actual person when something goes wrong. Buying direct from us (and signing up for our newsletter list!) lets us really connect, human-to-human.
Of course, this is not an ‘either or’ thing.
I love my readers, no matter where you buy my books from! Maybe you gobble up my ebooks in KU. Maybe you borrow a paperback from a friend. Maybe you listen to my audiobooks through a library app like Hoopla. Or maybe you just love the convenience of Amazon prime shipping.
